Nothing like a Saturday morning latte to start the day.

We went to a place called “Origins” in Liberty Village for a birthday dinner.  It was alright.  It was supposed to be family style, but it was a bit difficult when a lot of us just wanted to order our own food.

While Mea was away for American Thanksgiving, I promised to check in on McLovin.  If you recall, this is the neediest you will ever meet.  He is really cute, though.  He also has more of a quack than a meow, which is odd.

We tried a new restaurant in the neighbourhood called “The Works”.  It’s not bad, but a LOT of food.  I thought that it was interesting that someone would make lightbulb shaped salt and pepper shakers.

Lily decided that she really likes climbing, and has a habit of walking along the hand rail on the second floor.  She’s not the most surefooted cat, but at least if she falls, it’s only a couple of feet.

Here, she is trying to figure out how to get to the next floor without touching the ground.

I’m participating in a ‘Square Swap’ through a Ravelry group online.  I did a variation of the basketweave stitch for my first one.

I like the sign, but I still think that there is such a thing as too early for Christmas.

Using a door knob to turn a skein of yarn into a ball.  This worked well for a while, until the Cat decided that it was a game, and she needed to play too.

At this point, I’m not sure that Lily has ever even seen a real mouse, but she sure loves the toy one that we got her.  She takes it everywhere she goes.  And look!  She’s sharing her food with it…unless she’s lulling it into a false sense of security, and saving it for dessert.

The Dude finally bucked up and took the test to become a Professional Engineer.  We went to the ceremony to get his certificate!

The Dude spent a lot of time during the renovation of the master bathroom trying to figure out if the new water-efficient toilet that he wanted to get would fit.  He used templates, and aluminum foil imprints, and even asked both handy parents for advice.  In the end, he trusted his own estimates and put it in.  And it fit quite nicely, and the only requirement was cutting the hole for the water supply a bit bigger.  Nicely done.

The Dude and I did an financial workshop, and the latter half of the session was a mock case study.  It was an interesting look at valuation, and we were put into teams to do the analysis.  We were called Team Burtt.

Dufflet desserts are soooo good.  Every time I see one of their trucks go by, I wish that they were like ice cream trucks, where they would just stop and sell me a baked good. =)

For the past 2 Christmases, the Dude and I have not put up a Christmas tree.  Partly, it was because we didn’t really have the space, but mostly, it just wasn’t a priority.  I did however buy a tiny tree, maybe about a foot and a half high, and shiny red balls to go with it.  Now that we have Lily, getting a tree seems hazardous.  The kitten chases her own tail, can you imagine her in front of a looming tree with lights and reflective balls?  No thanks…yet.

The downside of that, however, is of course, that meant that I would see cute decorations everywhere.  Check out this little dog at ‘Crate & Barrel’.  Too cute!  I wanted to buy it, but then where would I put it?

You know, if the sign hadn’t said ‘Little Monkey’, I wouldn’t have guessed it for the one on the left.  The one on the right is obviously a panda, though.
