Hello Kitty! never fails to slay me.  I mean, is there anything else out there in the world that puts out such a wide array of products?  Here are two different seaweed holders.  SEAWEED HOLDERS!  Like, it holds only seaweed!  And people buy this stuff.  That, and the inflatable Hello Kitty! giant lawn ornament at Canadian Tire.

Went to go see a ballet rendition of “The Nutcracker”.  I don’t go for the ballet, really, but the music.  Which was really good, because we were up in the nosebleed section, with a great view of the orchestra.

Happy New Year!  Had a New Years Day lunch with my parents.  At this point, we don’t have a Christmas tree up at our house, so we celebrate with theirs.

A post-Christmas celebration at Guu Izakaya in the Annex in Toronto.  The atmosphere is kind of crazy, but fun.  The food is pretty good too.

I’m not sure if I ever mentioned this before, but when I started travelling years ago, I started having something which I called “Vacation Breakfast”.  Basically, it is just a sausage egg McMuffin.  The reason for this was because whenever I travelled, McDonalds was consistently one of the things that we also had back home.  So if I got a bit homesick, I would have a vacation breakfast, and it would make me feel better because it reminded me of home.  Weird, I know, but it works for me.

On this Boxing Day though, I got Vacation Breakfast in bed, at home.

My brother went to Texas earlier in the season and managed to squeeze in a Dallas Cowboys game.  He brought me back this treasure.  My goal now is to collect the rest of them.  Expensive?  Probably, but there are only 32, and over 10-20 years; it shouldn’t be an issue.

Here is Lily trying to help me with a knitted square.  Now was that knit, knit, purl?  Or purl, purl, knit?

Baking a lemon square one day in advance of our Cookie Bee.   Yes, I know, I know, it’s not a cookie, but since we were hosting, I thought that it would be okay.  I love lemon desserts.
