Project 365 – v2.0

So I’ve decided to start another Photo Project 365 this year.  At first, I thought that I would try to mix it up and make it a themed one, or something special.  But looking back at last years, I just don’t lead an exciting or diversified enough life to be able to truly pull that off.   So it will be Day in the Life of =)

Looking at the metrics from last year, out of 366 days, I got about 281.  Not terrible, yet not great either.  You’d think that in a year where I got married, went on the honeymoon, and adopted a kitten, I’d be able to do better than that.

So this time around, I’m aiming higher.  The ultimate goal, of course, would be to get to 365, but I’ll consider it a triumph if I get over 300.

So two goals for Project 365 v2.0:

1.  Aim for 300+
2.  Take better pictures (ie.  clearer and more interesting)

Wish me luck!  If this cold is completely gone this week, I’m aiming for a March 1 launch.

Family Day

Happy Family Day! I got to kick mine off with a Craft Day with a few of the girls (knitting and some paper crafts), and yesterday, we headed out to a new place (for us, at least) for brunch.

Camp Restaurant is on Jane St, and the food is great! I had the Reuben, and the Dude at the Canadiana sandwich. Definitely adding this to our list of go-to places for breakfast.

A great view of the quiet street:

Superbowl Eating

So the Dude and I decided to once again head to the pub to watch the Superbowl.

Even though I don’t know enough to have a favourite team, I’ve discovered that that doesn’t stop me from getting excited, or disappointed.  Part of me wanted San Francisco to win, but that was only because I just happen to like the city a lot.

And of course, it was the perfect excuse to eat lots of junk food.  We started with the nachos, which lasted us right up until game time:

The waitress then brought around some chili to everyone in the pub, and we wolfed that down:

And then we finished things off with a sporting event staple, the wings and fries:

We contemplated sharing a sandwich too, but thought that that would have been overkill.

All in all, it was a great time.  We got to eat a bunch of greasy food, and in the process, watch what turned out to be a very exciting game.

Congrats to Baltimore!

And so here we are, a year later.  I suppose instead of a roaring finish, it just peetered to the end.  Pulling a muscle in my back a few days ago did nothing to help my creativity, but there we are.

I have to say that this has been a very interesting exercise.  And of all the years that I could have chosen to catalog in this way, I couldn’t have picked a better one.  Between getting married, going on our honeymoon, and adopting our kitten, more exciting and wonderful things couldn’t have happened.

And now I have this series to remind me of a milestone year.

I’m contemplating starting a second series in the next couple of months, and try to beat the number of entries from this first one.  Perhaps a themed Project 365 in addition to the photos?  I’ll tally up the actual number from the 2012-2013, and let you know what the deal is.  Let me know if you have any ideas for themes, and in the mean time, I’ll leave you with this photo which basically sums up my 2012:

Yes.

While we were in between parties, we wandered around a Loblaw’s, more specifically, the one that is now situated in what used to be Maple Leaf Gardens.  They have a diverse section of takeaway food and baked goods.  Look at all those macarons!

I’ve been participating in some knitting swaps, and received this awesome package to help motivate me into making some toys for Lily.  I think she also appreciates it =)

We went downtown for an appointment on a foggy evening, and came upon the Shangri-La hotel.  I was a bit surprised by its appearance.  I thought that it would be all white and lit-up and grand, and instead, it looks like it just came out of the sky like something from a Star Wars movie.
