I was wondering around Korea town waiting for my hair appointment, when I came across the new window display at the Boardgame Cafe, Snakes and Lattes.  It’s a giant version of a game token from Carcassonne!  It nearly came up to my shoulders!  My apologies for the lack of scale in the picture, but if you look at the size of it compared to the car in the reflection, and the sidewalk is only a few feet wide, it’s big, I assure you.

Heading to Tim Horton’s for an after dinner coffee, I was quite tempted by their donuts.  Thank goodness they didn’t have any chocolate Timbits…

While running some errands at Shoppers Drug Mart, I came across these chocolate treats.  Since when did eggs and bunnies become sheep, cows, and pigs?

Met up with Mia for some yoga and dinner.  This time, we went to ‘Sushi and Thai’.  Their food is pretty good, but a tad on the pricey side.

This is what we concluded dinner with a coconut sorbet served in a coconut shell.  Sooooo good.

After work, I trekked all across town to Cabbagetown to participate in a weekly ‘PubStumpers’ event at ‘Stout’ pub.  ‘PubStumpers’ is a weekly trivia event, and several bars and pubs all over Toronto hold these games.  This was my first time at one, but several of our friends have participated a few times.

I have to say, we didn’t do that well.  In our own defence, a lot of the ‘Name that Tune’ songs were from way before our time, even though most are considered classics.  How am I supposed to know 4 bars from a Tom Petty song??

Anywho, it was great fun, and I hope to be able to make it to more of these things.  Good times.

So after a nearly full weekend of eating, I declined a brunch meeting and the Dude went off without me.  They were meeting at the ‘Lakeside Storehouse’, and the report that I got after was that it was pretty good, and that we’d have to go and try the milkshakes.  I got an email last night from a friend about this place, and apparently it was featured on an episode of ‘Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives’.

I spent the morning doing chores then, but before you feel too sorry for me, the other I declined brunch was because I was going to the symphony with my cousin and cousin-in-law later in the afternoon.  We were going to listen to ‘Mozart to Sibelius’, which was fantastic.  I grew up with a piano teacher that only taught us classical pieces, so consequently, I love it.  The concert was a Roy Thompson hall, and it was my first time there.

After the pizza from last night, we met up with the Bro at “Centre Street Deli”, up in Vaughn.  This place serves lots of food, but the Bro recommended it’s version of Montreal style smoked meat.  Dudes, it’s a lot of meat.  We shared sandwiches, coleslaw, fries, and some ‘Cheesecake Factory’ cheesecake.  So much food.  To top it all off, we were meeting my parents that night for dinner, and went to Markham for dumplings at Ding Tai Fong.  So good.

After work, I had to go downtown to meet the Dude and check out another condo.  It’s just a very interesting building because of the exposed concrete, and the layouts were interesting.

Post condo-checkout, we headed back to our neighbourhood and tried ‘Buddha Pie’, which is fantastic, by the way.   Now we pretty much have a neighbourhood restaurant for every type of food that we like.  Except dumplings and ramen.  Thank goodness it’s a short list =)

After meeting up with some friends for Dumpling Dash 3.0 (which just means going for dumplings for the third time in a short while), I continued to work on my dad’s sweater.  I have now dubbed it the never ending sweater.

But look!  I’ve got the body and 2 sleeves.  Truthfully, it’s been taking me a while because I’ve been working on other projects, but also because I had finished the sleeves before, but then had to re-do them because they were too small.  Argh!

Got to work from home today, and went out at lunch to grab a latte from Starbucks.  Is it too much to ask to have the Pumpkin Spice latte year round?!?!  Ugh.

I ordered some fresh rolls for lunch (yum!), and headed back home.  Brrr…it’s so cold!  The weekend was so warm, and it lulled me into a false sense of security.

Thought this was kind of neat.  I knew that Starbucks had a song for pick of the week, but it looks like they had expanded to apps too.

Met up with a friend and her husband for Indian food last night.  It was great to see her, especially since we had been trying to get together for weeks!  Glad we were able to get our schedules synced though, as she’s due to give birth in about a week or so.  I don’t think we’d be able to meet up for a while once the baby gets here.

We got invited to a private showing of “Jack the Giant Slayer” for the WB, and found this poster on one of the doors.  Not that I think it deters a lot of people, but it’s cute nonetheless.
